Canopies/ Drapes

by Emma, 25th February 2016

Hi everyone who has been coming to shows for the last couple days,

It has occurred to me that the lyrics for Canopies and Drapes are super outdated.

Since I wrote the song, New Kids on the Block have reformed, then I guess broke up again.

S Club have apparently reformed (songs please?).

Woody Allen is different.

‘David Bowie’s new CD’ has taken on new meaning.

I don’t like the Jam.

If you want to send me your suggestions, I’m working on a new version to test out on the road.

Also let’s figure out this grapes, drapes situ.

xx

Hey Emmy, I was at your show last night at the boot and saddle. I'd never heard of you before my friend brought me along, and I really loved your music! Anyway there was a song that I've been trying to find, it's the one where you are playing a synthy bass line in 8/8 time and the drums are going in 3/4 I think. That was an awesome idea and that song was just really cool so could I have the name of that song please? thank you, ryan

Hi there, loved the concert at Islington on Thursday and the updated lyrics were perfect. I just wanted to pass on some feedback about the sound. I don't know if it was an intentional choice or just the acoustics at the venue, but there was a huge amount of reverb or something on your voice and the keyboards, so the overall effect was mushy and it was hard to hear the words when the band were playing with you. I love the sparse sound on your albums and it felt like that had been lost. I also felt that Dems were a strange choice (until I realised that you share a band member), but O Karmina was fantastic and a really good fit.

  • This is very interesting, You are a very professional blogger. I've joined your rss feed and look forward to searching for more of your wonderful post. Also, I've shared your site in my social networks
